Building Your List with Articles

Building Your List with Articles

You can build your list simply by writing articles, whether you have thought of it or not.

Quite simply, you write and submit your articles on your topic of expertise or business nature to popular article directories where eZine publishers and readers are looking for the information you provide.

Leveraging your viral marketing efforts on article writing can be rewarding, if done right. In the real sense, you are actually proving your worth and demonstrating your expertise about your business through the articles you write.

So, how can this method in effect build your mailing list? The answer: the resource box you attach to your articles. In your resource box (also known as bio box), you include a brief detail about yourself and your business site together with its URL.

It is strongly suggested that your resource box URL links to your mailing list’s landing page where you can get your visitor’s name and email address, which will in turn help you build your mailing list at no cost.

If your articles are found worth sharing, eZine publishers will republish your articles together with your resource box for their readers and subscribers. The wonderful result: viral marketing without effort on your part!

You can start by writing and submitting your articles to trusted article submitter sites such as http://www.goarticles.com/ and begin your article marketing journey today.

Ad Swap Magic

October 9th, 2009

Here is a little used technique you can implement to build your mailing list for no additional cost. I call it “using subscribers to make subscribers” like much in the context of “using money to make money”.

This simple list building formula can be summed up in two words: ad swap.

Generally, you trade advertisements with other eZine publishers, preferably of the same mailing list size or bigger. You broadcast the eZine publisher’s advertisement to your mailing list while the eZine publisher endorses your ad to his list. Yes, you are actually cross endorsing or cross promoting each others offer to each of your mailing list.

Your advertisement’s goal should be to get as many subscribers possible from the other eZine publisher’s mailing list to sign up for yours.

The result: you grow your mailing list. This method does not require money, which means it can be done for free. And the return of subscribers? Infinite!

You only have to do this with one eZine publisher at least once, because his subscribers who are also your subscribers can now be followed up within the boundaries of your mailing list.

Perform ad swaps with as many eZine publishers as possible and soon, you will have a huge mailing list of your own – built free.

Your posting links everywhere but not making money? This is Why

Welcome to Social Media,

The clue is in the name Social + Media, in order to sell on social sites you have to be very tactile.

People in the social media world do not respond very well to direct sales messages this is because they have been bombarded all day long with it and when they get home they just don’t care what your selling or offering no matter how good you think your product is. When people are visiting these social media sites such as twitter, facebook & youtube they are relaxing and checking out the things they like the most, dogs for example.

Imagine you have just finished a hard day at work and you go to your favorite social sites and you see, “teach your dog some manners only $19.99”, “Make your dog fetch the ball only $9.99”.

Would you respond to them? probably not and whats more if you keep sending them this kind of stuff they will most likley stop following, leave the group or unsubscribe from your list, videos, blog or whatever it is that you do.

You need to provide GOOD content thats relevant to the persons passion, for example instead of the same old sales pitch why not write a review of a product that you recently purchased but be honest and don’t lie and say it’s good if it’s not, you must build TRUST from your followers. Try to include some really useful hints, tips or tricks thats related to the item, for example if you just reviewed a dog shampoo include some tricks on how to get the dog in the bath or how to get the dog to stay still while you hose him down.

If you can become an affiliate of the product you just reviewed, then add your affiliate link to the bottom of your review, or on the side navigation somewhere. Call the link find more information on this product, or something similar and not Buy XYZ for only $19.99

In this one instance you may not sell anything, but you have built a new relation with your followers. You have provided new, useful, valuble, trust worthy information and you have not tried to sell them anything. Your followers are happy and they really apperciate this type of content, and remember happy followers turn into happy buyers.

Now you can post links to your new content, but tell them what your doing or what you did or what your problem is. I would go with something like “My damn Dog jumped out of the bath, I’m soaked. (link goes here)”

Just repeat this simple content first & money later concept. I’m sure you will see an improvement in no time.

Comments, thoughts, Suggestions are all welcome.
